about

Dear current or potential fans of my musical compositions,

This album almost got forgotten in time but was recently rescued by a mental incarnation of scuba-diving dolphins trained to find the lost Atlantis of digital music projects on my hard drive. This is my dearest, heartfelt effort to share with you new music - that I was composing in 2011. The backstory to this this project is that it really got a boost in 2013 as an awesome remix project for a label with three other artists but it eventually fell through, except for one exceptional individual.

Listening through all the poppiness, elatedness, and synths, you may notice that the lyrics are about different things (yes, sounds surprising) - about sort of serious things, like political upheaval and social strife, cheating etc. Yes, 15-M is a bit of an anthem to the like-titled social movement in Spain in 2011 (“I was there”). Though I’ve never been in the city, Miami suffered a rather arbitrary and unfair prejudice on my part, I just imagined that lots of beach, sun, sexiness and the parties we used to see on MTV could somehow translate to symbolize fickle people, which is what that song is really about. There’s not much to say about Flytee except that it is also about unreliable (fligh-ty, get it?) people and the remix is awseome.

[Is this proximity of the narrator-reader dialogue getting awkward? I’m almost done anyway]

I’m proud of this project for its cohesiveness. It was all written during a time which was very emblematic for me personally (not going to explain more, too personal), and I think that’s really reflected in the music. It’s got the funky-weird Evan If vibe, but stands out as particularly Rick Asltey-ish IMHO.

So, cue it up at the gymnasium, on your complementary airplane earbuds, or play it for your dog. I think you’ll have fun.

PS big up to Cauto for the dope remix and Diego and Isaac for the cover help.
